Community of Practice 2: Pandemic preparedness

This Community of Practice (CoP) focuses on improving international pandemic preparedness and minimising cross-border health threats by two main focus areas: (1 global access to medicines and health products; and (2) strengthened international action on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and policy on zoonotic diseases (diseases that can be transmitted between animals and people).

To achieve the objectives related to the above focus areas, CoP2 consists of a multisectoral group of experts who exchange knowledge and expertise, convene in CoP meetings, and establish meaningful collaborations and synergies. It mainly looks at ways of sustainably improving the distribution of medicines and other health products. And it will examine how capacity for pandemic preparedness and response (PPR) can be strengthened, especially in partnership with low to middle income countries (LMIC’s). Finally, partners in this expert group will also do research into health threats.
