Pandemic preparedness
Objectives: global access to medicines and health products; strengthened international action on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and policy on zoonotic diseases (diseases that can be transmitted between animals and people).
This group of experts will work to ensure the international community is better prepared to deal with future pandemics. It will also strive to reduce cross-border health threats.
To do this, it will look at ways of sustainably improving the distribution of medicines and other health products. And it will examine how capacity for pandemic preparedness and response (PPR) can be strengthened, especially in partnership with countries in the Global South. Finally, partners in this expert group will also do research into health threats.
